“Anti-Rape” Garments

“Anti-Rape” Garments

What if the boys see the girls wearing underwear with imitation penis? Sounds new right? How would they feel? Probably they would feel turn-off, disgust or laugh or whatsoever! But why do you think they invented this?

Being a girl is so difficult! Women go outside, at any time they might encounter bad guys because danger is everywhere. That’s why Thais created the “Headmuns Security Pants” to protect a woman's delicate part and also to prevent them from being sexually harassed.

Thailand's product
Headmuns Security Pants is a special female underwear because it has an artificial penis inside. So if the girl wears it, she may looks like a transgender. So the tendency, the straight guys might ward-off. That’s why don’t fear about abduction anymore.

Nevertheless, whose women like to buy and use this kind of underwear? I’m pretty sure some of girls would rather stay at home than be caught on the streets wearing that kind of underwear! That was awkward!

Suspension of EARIST students and the inutile action of PNoy in education system

Anakbayan condemned the action of the administration of Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) to suspend 5 officials of Institute student Government (156) led by its President, Philip Bautista and 15 other student leaders.

The EARIST administration led by President, Dr. Eduardo Caillo issued dismissal against Bautista and 4 others and 5 day suspension to 15 student leaders. The suspension of 20 student leaders is due to their opposition to the implementation of Php 1,000 development fee.

According to Anakbayan chairperson Vencer Crisostomo, he called on Commission on Higher Education to act on this matter. He also lambasted CHED about the inability to meddle on EARIST’s fascistic act. Yesterday, January 29, supposed agents from EARIST sprayed the office of Katipunan ng Mag-aaral at Organization with the word “Communist, KAMAO”.

For Crisostomo, it is a cruelty move for state colleges and universities to step on student’s rights.

EARIST students will stage a rally to oppose the suspension of 20 student leaders, January 30.

My life’s uncertainties

Our last picture taken
My life’s uncertainties

‘’When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change it at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny”. –Paul Coelho

Many people all around the world face some challenges and obstacles in their lives. Particularly me, I thought everything was perfect in our family even though my dad had passed away in our early age while my mom had been working abroad and despite the great distance between us, she never fails to make us feel special. She tried her very best to communicate and be with us for as long as she can. Unfortunately, appalling news staggered us. My tito there called us and he said that my mom was in a comatose. No one knows when she will wake up. At home, we have no idea of what was going on. Then my tito called us, he informed us that my mom had passed away. I cried so much and so hard that I started to breathe fast.
The gravestone of my parents.
Now, I lost two very important persons in my life. When they both passed away, it was an obstacle for me and to my brother. It feels like my life was nothing because my parents are not here. I couldn’t imagine any reason to be strong enough to convince myself to stay up. Unfocused, sluggish, alone, that’s how I feel. I attempt to commit suicide just to be with my parents but it was just in my mind. I didn’t take any move because I realized that it was not a solution to my melancholy. Indeed, I’m still lucky because my family and close friends are there to support me.
Love of parents was all I craved for. I know God has a purpose why He let both of my parents died and He just want the two of us to become even stronger.

To overcome depression is not that easy, it takes time to overcome it but by having a family and friends around me, I was able to surmount it easily.

Bride for Rent: a breaking box-office record

Isn’t it amazing?

Isn’t it exciting?

Isn’t it surprising?

Bride for Rent is a breaking box-office record, as it hit Php100 million in just four days in cinema nationwide. Compared to their last film “Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?” which took over two weeks to earn Php100 million. Bride for Rent is a Filipino romantic-comedy film directed by Mae Czarina Cruz and written by Carmi Raymundo. It is the second team up of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim on the big screen.

Bride for Rent is a story of a young sassy and a funny girl named Racquelita dela Cruz aka Rocky (Kim Chiu) who went for an audition for the role as a Bride for Rent to help her struggling family. The groom named Roderico Espiritu aka Rocco (Xian Lim), a stubborn guy wanted a “Pseudo wife” in order to get his trust fund from his grandmother. Unfortunately, Rocco’s grandmother named Lala (Pilita Corales) insists on a church wedding for the couple, so the couple had no choice but to agree. The plan was that they would part ways as soon as Rocco gets his trust fund but things turn out differently, they realized that they are beginning to fall for one another.

Bride for Rent is not just a typical romantic comedy but teaches us important lessons in life that marriage is not just a marriage. It is sacred because it is a sacrament between two persons who love each other and also the lesson there is about forgiveness and learning to be a better man. Indeed, there’s a line there saying “When you know how to say sorry, you’re a step closer to becoming a better man”. And in addition to that, the lesson there is about love and cooperation of every member of the family. These lessons we may apply it in ourselves.

Family Reunion

Family Reunion

“Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present, and future. We make discoveries about ourselves”. – Gail Lumet

A Family Reunion is an occasion when many members of an extended family get together. Most people take pleasure in reuniting with their loved ones they haven’t seen in a long time.
A Family Reunion that we had on Christmas Day.

Christmas vacation and summer time are the most awaited occasion for me because these are the days that we have get together. It is a great way to reconnect with relatives and just spend time with each other and with that you will see the essence of each member of the family. This also serves as an opportunity for me to meet my other relatives whom I did not met before. It is a great time for fun, food fellowship and reminiscing the moment we had.

A Family Reunion that we had on Summer vacation.
At the same time, it strengthens the relationship of one another. And also I discover a thing which catches my interest most especially when it talks about my family’s hidden talent. It’s nice to learn all of this knowing that it will help me complete my whole being because without them, I will not be complete, my life will not be happy. That’s why family gathering is one of the events every Filipino treasures.

“SPES” a preparation for one’s future job

“SPES” a preparation for one’s future job

What do you think of SPES? How could this be helpful for students?

SPES is a Special Program for Employment of Students. This program is mandated under Republic Act No. 9543 otherwise known as “An act to help poor but deserving students pursue their education by encouraging their employment during summer and Christmas vacations”. This program is open to all qualified High School, college or vocational or drop-outs and interested employers. It must be at least 15 yrs. old but not more than 25 yrs. old.

So meaning to say, SPES is one of the government’s program. It helps poor but deserving students and out-of-school youth with no regular source of income and visible means of livelihood in pursuing their education by employing them during summer vacation and Christmas break.

This program gives the students opportunity to train them in a real work setting so that they may gain basic skills and experience in their work. And also, this program teaches the students on how to value their earned money for something they work hard. So basically, SPES really helps the students.
